Pradeep Kumar D.M. est l’artiste r\u00e9sident 2021 du Centre d’Art, c’est un artiste pluridisciplinaire, son travail est inspir\u00e9 par la culture orale ainsi que par les \u00e9l\u00e9ments d\u00e9coratifs en relation avec sa culture d\u2019origine, la tribu Lambani.<\/p>\n\n

De sa grand-m\u00e8re, Pradeep a appris la patience et la concentration, dont les femmes avaient besoin pour les broderies d\u2019art, et pour lui cela est fondamental pour ses dessins. Un autre \u00e9l\u00e9ment qui distingue le chemin artistique de Pradeep et qui s\u2019inspire de sa culture est le voyage. Originaires du Rajasthan, les Lambanis ont migr\u00e9s vers le sud, o\u00f9 certains d\u2019entre eux se sont install\u00e9s dans le Karnataka. Pradeep a gard\u00e9 vivante cette tradition du voyage.<\/p>\n\n

Comme un nomade contemporain, ou qu\u2019il aille, sa vie et son art absorbent les caract\u00e9ristiques de l\u2019endroit. Le bruit, les sons, les odeurs, les images, les exp\u00e9riences, les rencontres et les langues du nouvel environnement deviennent une partie de sa vie quotidienne et influencent ses cr\u00e9ations. O\u00f9 qu\u2019il se trouve, il collecte des objets, des mat\u00e9riaux naturels ou faits main, qui deviennent les supports de ses oeuvres.<\/p>\n\n

Les mat\u00e9riaux sont importants car \u201cils parlent des racines, de l\u2019histoire du lieu, de son exp\u00e9rience. Les tuiles, par exemple, parlent de l\u2019histoire de mon village. Mes dessins servent alors d\u2019aides et de supports au r\u00e9cit.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

Pr\u00e9cieuses pour l\u2019artiste sont les rencontres avec les habitants de ces lieux, qui sont souvent faussement d\u00e9finis comme \u00ab\u00a0communs\u00a0\u00bb: le fermier, le m\u00e9canicien, le menuisier, le p\u00eacheur, etc.<\/p>\n\n

Pr\u00e9cieuses pour l\u2019artiste sont les rencontres avec les habitants de ces lieux, qui sont souvent faussement d\u00e9finis comme \u201ccommuns\u201d: le fermier, le m\u00e9canicien, le menuisier, le p\u00eacheur, etc. Ces gens, plein de savoirs et de richesse artisanale, deviennent une partie int\u00e9grale du travail de Pradeep. Ils font partie du fil conducteur de la recherche de dialogue profond entre les mat\u00e9riaux qu’il trouve et qu’il utilise et l’inspiration des images et des symboles qui peuplent ses \u0153uvres. \n<\/p>\n\n
