ANIMA est le nom voulu par Jyoti Naoki Eri pour sa nouvelle exposition. Anima, en latin, c\u2019est l\u2019\u00e2me, c\u2019est aussi anim\u00e9, dou\u00e9 de mouvement. Jyoti, d\u2019origine japonaise, de son pass\u00e9 animiste, cherche le divin en toute chose, le divin est partout : dans toutes les manifestations de la vie, dans toutes les formes de la nature. Comme un entomologiste, comme un astrophysicien, il en \u00e9tudie les \u00e9manations et les m\u00e9tamorphoses, en suit la trace dans des espaces ou ne semble r\u00e9gner que le vide, invente de nouvelles \u00e9quations.<\/p>\n\n

Jyoti est un artiste poly\u00e9drique\u00a0: il est peintre, sculpteur, photographe, c\u00e9ramiste, designer, architecte de jardin.\u00a0 Ne craignant pas les contaminations, il croise entre elle ces diff\u00e9rentes disciplines, exp\u00e9rimente des hybridations\u00a0 pour tenter peut \u00eatre de cr\u00e9er de nouvelles formes de vie ou de v\u00e9rifier des th\u00e9ories.<\/p><\/p>\n\n

Il travaille par s\u00e9ries, allant jusqu\u2019au bout de chacun des chemins que lui-m\u00eame a trac\u00e9, des contraintes qu\u2019il s\u2019est impos\u00e9 comme\u00a0 une sorte de cadrage , ne pouvant s\u2019arr\u00eater et conclure la s\u00e9rie, de son propre aveu, que lorsque ses possibilit\u00e9s sont \u00e9puis\u00e9es. Son processus cr\u00e9atif se nourrit de toutes ses exp\u00e9riences, de toutes ses d\u00e9couvertes, c\u2019est \u00e0\u00a0 tous les effets un yoga.<\/p> \n

Cette exposition, r\u00e9sultat de plus de quatre ans d\u2019exploration, pr\u00e9sente des \u0153uvres m\u00ealant peinture,\u00a0 sculptures, photographie.<\/p><\/p>\n\n

Three main series emerge.<\/p><\/p>\n\n

Trois\u00a0 principales s\u00e9ries en \u00e9mergent.<\/p> \n

La s\u00e9rie Vessel interroge, \u00e0\u00a0 travers la forme d\u2019un vase, ou d\u2019un mannequin \u00e0\u00a0 forme humaine,\u00a0 la dualit\u00e9 \u00e2me\/corps et son rapport avec l\u2019univers. Le vase, comme le corps, est le contenant. Peut on r\u00e9ellement appr\u00e9hender ce qu\u2019en serait le contenu, l\u2019\u00e2me\u00a0? Quelle est la forme et la couleur de l\u2019\u00e2me\u00a0? Est-elle dedans\u00a0? Est-elle dehors\u00a0? Que se passe-t-il au milieu\u00a0? Ce qui fascine l\u2019artiste, c\u2019est cet entre deux, c\u2019est la fronti\u00e8re. En un jeu hypnotique entre l\u2019objet et le fond,\u00a0 il intervertit les champs chromatiques, substitue le plein au vide, l\u2019int\u00e9rieur \u00e0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur, la profondeur \u00e0 la surface. Les tons \u00e9blouissants distraient la r\u00e9tine de ce qui se trame dans l\u2019invisible,\u00a0 comme un magicien\u00a0 d\u00e9tourne l\u2019attention de son public. Ce que sugg\u00e8re l\u2019artiste, c\u2019est que peut \u00eatre, derri\u00e8re l\u2019apparence, notre substance et celle du monde sont les m\u00eames, et que notre alt\u00e9rit\u00e9 n\u2019est au fond qu\u2019une illusion d\u2019optique.<\/p><\/p>\n\n

Dans la s\u00e9rie Windows, Jyoti utilise la calligraphie, dont il\u00a0 \u00e9limine l\u2019\u00e9criture pour ne garder que le geste. Il aime le moment ou la ligne devient totalement spontan\u00e9e, une \u00e9pure d\u2019action trac\u00e9e dans l\u2019instant.<\/p><\/p>\n\n

Parfois il choisit l\u2019indigo et obtient une composition monochrome, parfois, et selon son humeur, les couleurs sont vives et vari\u00e9es, parfois, il m\u00e9lange. Car la composition achev\u00e9e est fragment\u00e9e en carr\u00e9s et recompos\u00e9e. Chaque nouveau morceau, avec en son centre un petit carr\u00e9 d\u2019or, son noyau divin,\u00a0 est une fen\u00eatre, un monde en soi et acquiert\u00a0 une nouvelle signification de par sa position dans la composition et la mani\u00e8re dont il se combine avec l\u2019ensemble. Cette abstraction visuelle, pour Jyoti, symbolise la r\u00e9incarnation de l\u2019\u00e2me, qui, lib\u00e9r\u00e9e de l\u2019existence pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente, peut commencer une vie nouvelle. Chaque mouvement, morcel\u00e9 ou dans son ensemble est un diff\u00e9rent aspect du divin en devenir.\u00a0<\/p><\/p>\n\n

Et c\u2019est encore de fen\u00eatres qu\u2019il s\u2019agit dans la troisi\u00e8me s\u00e9rie propos\u00e9e par l\u2019artiste, la plus r\u00e9cente, intitul\u00e9e Lotus. Si le symbolisme demeure pr\u00e9pond\u00e9rant, avec le choix de fen\u00eatres de feuille d\u2019or flottant entre premier plan et fond, Lotus marque un retour \u00e0 la repr\u00e9sentation figurative, un changement appel\u00e9 par une profonde exigence int\u00e9rieure.<\/p><\/p>\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0J\u2019avais besoin de la clart\u00e9 du lotus pour compl\u00e9ter mon processus cr\u00e9atif-explique Jyoti- un artiste ne travaille pas que sur des \u00e9motions positives, et c\u2019est parfois lourd a porter. Cette nouvelle s\u00e9rie r\u00e9pond donc a une n\u00e9cessit\u00e9. Je voulais une r\u00e9ponse, et je l\u2019ai obtenue.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p><\/p>\n\n

The answer of Jyoti stands before us today, exposed in its magnificent evidence: the man who is the window, the man who is the instrument finds here the absolute bliss of the divine presence in all the levels of creation, and manifests the joy of the being who acknowledges in itself the almost forgotten secret of its own truth.<\/p><\/p>\n\n
