La chaleur tape sur mon casque, \u00e9viter la circulation, filtrer le bruit, et inspirer les gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement pousse mes sens \u00e0 un niveau de saturation. Finalement, j\u2019ai le sentiment d\u2019avoir r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 m&rsquo;\u00e9chapper et me retrouve sur un tron\u00e7on d\u2019autoroute relativement d\u00e9gag\u00e9 o\u00f9 je prends la premi\u00e8re sortie.<\/p>\n\n<p>Je suis arriv\u00e9 dans un nouvel endroit. Je passe des rizi\u00e8res vertes o\u00f9 des files de femmes, jupons remont\u00e9s jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la taille, jambes nues dans l\u2019eau marron, se courbent sur des plans de riz tendres; je ralenti derri\u00e8re un char \u00e0 boeufs oscillant, la paille \u00e9clipse le conducteur \u00e0 l\u2019exception de ses pieds plats et calleux que j\u2019entrevois entre des roues d\u00e9s\u00e9quilibr\u00e9es. Je rate presque le bassin en pierres sculpt\u00e9es con\u00e7u pour une princesse oubli\u00e9e depuis longtemps. Il y a des lignes tordues de palmiers et entre eux, des huttes aux toits de feuilles de cocotiers et leurs cours de terre, vides \u00e0 l\u2019exception des enfants dans leurs uniformes miteux d&rsquo;apr\u00e8s midi qui chassent des pneus de v\u00e9lo avec un b\u00e2ton.<\/p>\n\n<p>Le premier appareil photo Holga que j\u2019ai emprunt\u00e9 a \u00e9branl\u00e9 quelque chose en moi ; j\u2019ai maintenant le mien et il m\u2019aide \u00e0 conditionner mon pass\u00e9 et mon pr\u00e9sent en un futur. Ceci est une s\u00e9rie sur mon \u00e9tat d\u2019origine, le Tamil Nadu, en Inde. Elle s\u2019est constitu\u00e9e depuis fin 2016. Elle repr\u00e9sente les influences quotidiennes, les dilemmes, les contrastes, les drames et les r\u00eaves d&rsquo;o\u00f9 a d\u00fb \u00e9voluer mon identit\u00e9. Enfant, on m\u2019a dit qui je devrais \u00eatre ou ce que je devrais faire; mes choix sur qui je voulais \u00eatre \u00e9taient r\u00e9prim\u00e9s, ces images sont donc des reflets de ma m\u00e9moire fragment\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n<p>Le carillon distant des cloches d\u2019un temple indique qu\u2019il y a quelque chose ici. Le jour s\u2019allonge, et le chemin d\u2019herbe me m\u00e8ne vers des souvenirs oubli\u00e9s. J\u2019explore tel un \u00e9tranger dans mon propre pays. C\u2019est \u00e0 moi de d\u00e9cider qui je peux \u00eatre et o\u00f9 j\u2019irai \u00e0 partir de la.<\/p>\n\n<p>Biographie :<\/p>\n\n<p>\u0100run (n\u00e9 en Inde en 1990) se concentre sur les forces contemporaines du d\u00e9veloppement sur l&rsquo;identit\u00e9 indienne, la culture traditionnelle et les environnements naturels. Photographiant en noir et blanc moyen format, son format de predilection, il examine ses sujets avec un \u0153il pour les lignes de g\u00e9om\u00e9trie et les contrastes de lumi\u00e8res et d\u2019ombres, influenc\u00e9 par son appr\u00e9ciation pour le travail de Lu Nan et Gordon Parks.
