2025/26 EXHIBITION SEASON

1 – 9 Aug 2025
John Mandeen’s retrospective retraces Auroville’s first 40 years of existence. Each of his pictures is a testimonial of our collective history, a kind of family album documenting Auroville, its people, landscapes and the building of the city.

15 – 23 Aug 2025
Dominique Darr’s Grant first edition will showcase the talent of 6 young Aurovilians.
Through diverse photographic projects, they explore this year’s theme, “The sun, the moon and the truth – Three things cannot be long hidden.” (Gautama Buddha)

5 – 24 Sep 2025
P. Saravanan’s paintings are a celebration of life and simple folks. His portraits, done with bold colours and his unique personal style, depict with tenderness and humor, the everyday life of a village by the sea.

3 – 11 Oct 2025
Nandita Sharma’s graphic novel, Aurowill, is planned to be a compendium weaving together facts, myths, stories, riddles, essays, diagrams, illustrations and itineraries to portray different aspects of life in the township during her two months residency.

Bojagi Art is a traditional Korean art form of gift wrapping , folding squares of cloth in any shape, whether it is square, triangular, round, long. Mint will share her wonderful skills with the community with a series of one day workshops followed by a short exhibition.

Rishi explores colors, shapes and emotions through his paintings and murals, an invitation to explore one’s own inner world and delve into the hidden layers of reality.

Foulax’s photomontages are a collection of surreal collages, placing his students in a variety of fantastic worlds made of palaces, buildings and nature.
What was originally meant as a little souvenir soon became a well awaited end of the year tradition for the children graduating from Transition school.

Marie-Claire Barsotti’s work is a meditative exploration that reveals the combination of structure and spontaneity found in her paintings. The abstract patterns emerging from her work are a testament to this search for freedom.

Dec – Jan 2025
Soumya Sankar Bose will be staying in Auroville during his 2 months residency. Through photography, film and the reconstruction of archival materials and oral histories, he creates a hybrid narrative framework.

26 Dec – 10 Jan 2026
Madhuri K’s “Fieldnotes” is a black and grey photograph series of paddy and dairy study. The timeline follows seasons, crop rotations, movement of living beings – human and animal forms, gestures, culture and state of being.

Sameer Rao’s woodcut prints on paper and fabrics, between poetry and technique, gently draw the audience into a universe of abstraction and patterns.

23 Jan – 11 Feb 2026
Ok Jeong Lee uses upcycled material to inspire reflection on our interconnectedness with nature. Moving beyond the pandemic, she uses discarded masks as a lens to examine the unseen environmental impact of human activity.

20 Feb – 11 Mar 2026
Jyoti Naoki Eri‘s paintings, ceramics and sound art installations are based around Landscapes of Time and Spirit, an invitation to experience different layers of consciousness and inner quietude.
